About Tiara
Tiara Adams is a multidisciplinary filmmaker, photographer, and creative community builder based in Vancouver, BC. Her work spans film production, photography, visual arts, and brand media, with a focus on visual arts and storytelling.
Originally from southern Alberta, Tiara began her career studying multimedia production at Lethbridge College, where she earned a diploma focused on web and graphic design. She continued her studies at the University of Lethbridge, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Media, where she developed a passion for filmmaking. There, she wrote, directed, and produced her first short film, Help Wanted (2013), and later produced and shot The Hitchhiker (2015), a film noir thriller that screened at the Calgary International Film Festival’s Alberta Spirit Gala and won the People’s Choice Award at the Jasper Short Film Festival.
Alongside her film work, Tiara co-founded Stacey Rae Images, a portrait and wedding photography business, combining her technical skills and creative eye to build visual identities for clients.
In her professional film career, Tiara has worked as a 2nd Assistant Camera and Digital Loader with the International Cinematographers Guild Local 669, contributing to large-scale productions across Western Canada. She continues to freelance as a filmmaker, photographer, and brand media specialist, balancing narrative, commercial, and documentary projects. Beyond her personal creative practice, Tiara has long been dedicated to building creative communities. In Lethbridge, she was actively involved in the independent film scene, contributing as a founder to the Lethbridge Independent Film Society and supporting grassroots filmmaking initiatives. Now based in Vancouver, she continues this work by organizing community-driven photography groups, spaces and workshops, and is helping develop a public-access darkroom for local artists working with digital and analog photographic processes. Across both cities, Tiara’s focus has been on creating spaces where artists and storytellers can connect, learn, and grow together.
Her creative practice spans street photography, experimental media, painting, and design—always rooted in curiosity, honesty, and connection.
